Marking the third anniversary of its Green Power Partnership Program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that more than 400 companies and organizations have joined the program, with collective purchases of 1.5 billion kWh of green power annually—equivalent to the annual output of a 500-MW wind farm. The Green Power Partnership was founded in 2001 to help build demand for green power among commercial and industrial electricity customers.
Recent additions to the partnership include: Whole Foods Market, Round Rock Independent School District, Dolly Madison Interstate Bakeries, Miller Brewing Company's Milwaukee Brewery, ReCellular, and Oracle Corporation's Austin Facilities.
