In October, GPU Solar completed construction of the first grid-connected solar facility to serve California's competitive electric market. Only one month earlier Green Mountain Energy announced that it had into an agreement with GPU Solar and Real Goods to build a 132-kW solar plant at the Real Goods Solar Living Center in Hopland, CA. GPU Solar, a joint venture between Astropower and GPU International, will own, and operate the plant, and Green Mountain will purchase the electricity for its 100% Renewable2.0 energy product.
