Green Mountain Energy announced that it has teamed with Sun Power Electric to install a 30-kilowatt (kW) solar electric system at an IKEA store near Pittsburgh that will supply Green Mountain's Pennsylvania-based customers with solar energy. Sun Power will own and operate the system.
Green Mountain also recently announced plans to construct a 25-kW solar array at Lake Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio, 25 miles east of Cleveland. The system will be the first commercial solar array in the state built exclusively to supply the competitive power market. Green Mountain serves more than 400,000 customers of the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC), a public energy aggregation group of 100 communities located in nine Northeast Ohio counties.
