Green Mountain Energy Company announced that it has been selected by Pacific Power and Portland General Electric (PGE) to supply renewable energy to retail customers of the two utilities. Beginning March 1, 2002, Oregon residential and small business customers served by Pacific Power and PGE will be able to choose from a range of new options, including three different renewable, environmentally preferred power options provided by the utilities. The customer service options are required under the state's electricity industry restructuring law, which was enacted in 1999. Both utilities will continue to offer their own pre-existing green pricing options.
