Community Energy announced that it is teaming with NYSEG, an electric utility serving about 830,000 electricity customers in upstate New York, to offer wind energy to the utility's residential customers. The New Wind Energy product is offered in 100-kWh blocks at a cost of $2.50 per block each month. Customers must purchase a minimum of two blocks. The power is supplied from the 30-MW Fenner Wind project located about 40 miles southeast of Syracuse.
