ConEdison Solutions, an unregulated subsidiary of Consolidated Edison that provides electricity service to residential and small business customers, announced that it is teaming with Community Energy, Inc. to offer green power to residential customers in the New York City region. The GREEN Power product is a Green-e certified blend of New York-based wind (25%) and hydropower (75%) offered at a premium of 0.5¢/kWh compared to the company's standard electricity rate. An average residential customer using 350 kWh of electricity each month would pay an additional $1.75 per month for the green power product. The power is supplied from the recently developed 30-MW wind farm in Fenner, NY and small, run-of-the-river hydropower facilities. The offering is available to all residential customers in the ConEdison and Orange and Rockland service territories.
