PG&E National Energy Group (NEG) announced that it plans to market green certificates from two new wind projects now operating near Palm Springs, California. The company will sell PureWind certificates representing the environmental attributes of the wind energy output to consumers over the Internet, as it does with certificates from its New York-based Madison wind project.
The power generated from the two new projects, totaling 66.6 MW, is being sold to the California Department of Water Resources under a long-term contract. Both projects are also among the approximately 1,000 MW of new renewable energy projects selected to receive production incentives from the California Energy Commission.
