JEA and Sterling Planet, Inc. announced a partnership to market the environmental attributes of solar power installations installed in the JEA service territory in northeast Florida. Since 2000, JEA has installed 520 kilowatts of solar energy generating capacity, mostly in the form of photovoltaic systems located at 26 Jacksonville-area high schools. The environmental attributes of the solar system output will be a component of Sterling Planet's 100% green energy blend, which also includes attributes from geothermal, small hydro, biomass and wind projects. The attributes are sold as tradable renewable certificates (TRCs), which are available nationwide from Sterling Planet.
