The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) approved a green pricing program that Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) will offer to its customers beginning October 1. The PNM Sky Blue product consists of 100% wind energy from the newly constructed New Mexico Wind Energy Center, a 204-MW project located near House, NM.
Residential and small business customers can purchase the wind energy in 100-kWh blocks or to meet 90% of their monthly electricity needs at a premium of 1.8¢/kWh. Large business customers can participate in the program by purchasing wind energy as a percentage of their monthly electricity usage at the same 1.8¢/kWh premium.
