NRG Energy and Boeing Complete the 6 MW Solar Generating Facility

June 2014 - On June 13, 2014, NRG Energy, Inc., a Princeton, NJ-based renewable energy developer, has announced the completion of the 6-megawatt Community 1 Solar Generating Facility, located on the Imperial Valley Campus of San Diego State University. The project is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 2,200 California homes through a community solar program developed in cooperation with Imperial Irrigation District in Imperial, California. The Boeing Company provided engineering, procurement, and construction for the Community 1 project.
