Groupon Partners with SolarCity to Provide Discounts on Solar Power

June 2014 - Groupon, a global provider of discounts on a wide range of products and services, and SolarCity, a solar power provider, have partnered to offer an additional savings of $400 off SolarCity's regular lease agreement terms to prospective residential photovoltaic (PV) customers. Participating homeowners can purchase the Groupon for $1 and subsequently decide whether to move forward with a PV installation after consulting with SolarCity. The Groupon is available through August 27, 2014, in 84 cities in the 15 state region served by SolarCity. SolarCity typically leases roof space from consumers for rooftop PV with no up-front cost to the consumer, often providing savings on the consumer's monthly electricity bills as part of the agreement.
