Phoenix Solar Begins Construction of Volkswagon's 9-MW PV System

Phoenix Solar has begun construction on a 9.58-megawatt photovoltaic system at a Volkswagon plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which will be the state's largest solar array upon completion. The 33,600 panel system is expected to produce roughly 13.1 gigawatt-hours of electricity each year and be equivalent to 12.5 percent of the plant's annual electricity demand.
