Stream Energy Launches National REC Product

Stream Energy has launched its Clean Nation Renewable Energy renewable energy certificate (REC) program that offers customers the ability to purchase 1,000 kilowatt-hour (kWh) bundles of RECs for $19.95 per month. While Stream Energy offers its Texas customers a standard 9.7¢/kWh price for renewable electricity, this REC product offering is available for utility customers in any state who may not have the option of procuring voluntary green power from their local utility. The REC product is certified by Green-e Energy.

Stream Energy has also announced its plans to match 100 percent of its corporate electricity use with RECs and has committed to an ongoing monthly purchase of RECs for each of its corporate employees. These two initiatives total 7.3 million kWh annually.
