The Cashton Greens Wind Farm of Cashton, Wisconsin is a partnership wind development project between Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center (Gundersen) and Organic Valley. The project features two wind turbines with a combined capacity of 5 megawatts, constructed and operating on land adjacent to Organic Valley's distribution center and headquarters.
Organic Valley and Gundersen will receive income per kilowatt-hour generated by the project, and Organic Valley will buy back its portion of energy to offset its footprint through a renewable energy contract with the villages of Cashton and La Farge. The project represents roughly five percent of Gundersen's energy independence goal.
