Marin Municipal Water District Joins Marin Clean Energy

Beginning in July 2012, the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) will enroll all of its electric accounts in Marin Clean Energy's Light Green renewable electricity option, which provides customers with 50 percent renewable energy. MMWD currently has 236 electric accounts consuming more than 20 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year in order to pump water from reservoirs in West Marin. The switch is timed with Marin Clean Energy's July enrollment period, which is expected to increase total customers to more than 95,000.

MMWD formerly purchased its power from Pacific Gas and Electric Co.
