Edwards Air Force Base Installs Solar

Construction is underway at Edwards Air Force Base (CA) for the installation of three solar farms, which will generate an estimated 3 megawatts (MW) of electricity for the Air Force base. Edwards will purchase the solar power through a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Borrego Solar. The solar farms will be located near Edwards' electricity substations, as the panels will be connected to Edwards' electric grid. Construction of the solar installations will be completed by the end of 2011.
