Southwestern Joins EPA's Green Power Partnership Program

September 2010 - Southwestern University has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership program with its purchase of more than 17 million kilowatt-hours of wind energy annually for the next 18 years. The purchase is equivalent to 100 percent of the university's estimated annual electricity use. The electricity will be sourced from the Southwest Mesa and South Trent Wind Farms through an agreement between the City of Georgetown and AEP Energy Partners.
