US Companies Show Increasing Interest in Renewable Energy

March 2010 - A new report by Environmental Leader and Retailer Daily, finds that a large percentage of companies that already produce their own renewable energy or buy renewable energy are exploring the option of increasing the amount. The survey also shows that companies not currently using renewable energy indicated that they are more likely to start purchasing within five years. Of respondents purchasing renewable energy certificates (RECs), roughly one-quarter do so for branding or imaging reasons, while another 20 percent purchase out of a sense of moral obligation.
