The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) launched the Buy Clean Energy 2010 campaign, partnered with a Web site enabling users to research local utility green power programs and buy renewable energy certificates (RECs). The campaign is sponsored by Xcel Energy, Sterling Planet, EcoElectrons, and various supporting organizations. Sterling Planet is offering a 100% wind REC option priced at $5.00 per 1,000 kWh block. The campaign has set a goal of 1 billion kilowatt-hours of new purchases in 2010.
