VA Hospitals to Build 1.7 MW of Solar Power Systems

December 2009 - REC Solar, a solar installer, announced an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to build 1.7 megawatts of solar power systems on federal facilities in California, Arizona and Nevada. With completion scheduled for the end of spring 2010, the PV systems will be installed at California VA Medical Centers in Palo Alto, Fresno, Los Angeles, and Long Beach, as well as VA Medical Centers in Tucson, AZ and Reno, NV. The high-efficiency systems will utilize over 7,000 Renewable Energy Corporation photovoltaic modules on roof, carport, and ground-mounted applications.
