EPA Names Top 20 K-12 Green Powered Schools

The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership has recognized 20 primary and secondary schools for using the most renewable energy. Combined, the top 20 partners purchase almost 113 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy. The top five schools are Austin Independent School District (Austin, Texas), Round Rock Independent School District (Round Rock, Texas), Rochester City School District (Rochester, New York), Bullis School (Potomic, Maryland), and The Dalton School (New York, New York).

EPA's Green Power Partnership works with more than 1,100 organizations to voluntarily purchase green power to reduce the environmental impacts of conventional electricity use. Overall, EPA Green Power Partners are buying more than 17 billion kWh of green power annually.
