Georgian Court U. Continues 100% Green Power Commitment

Georgian Court University, based in New Jersey and founded in 1908, has entered into an agreement to purchase more than 5.6 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy certificates (RECs) — enough to meet 100 percent of the college's expected annual electricity use. Under the agreement, 3Degrees Inc., a San Francisco-based renewable energy marketer, will supply RECs sourced from national biomass (5 million kWh) and wind (665,280 kWh) facilities. According to the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership, the university is the first in New Jersey to match its anticipated electricity use with 100 percent renewable energy.
