Xcel Energy Expands Windsource to Wisconsin

October 2009 - Xcel Energy customers in Wisconsin can now elect to purchase renewable energy through its Windsource program. Under the program, customers committing to a one-year enrollment can purchase 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks of wind energy for an additional $1.15 monthly charge, or a rate premium of 1.5¢/kWh. The program will initially be sourced from wind farms in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.
