PPL Electric Offers Green Option to PA Customers

PPL Electric Utilities, an electric delivery service to eastern and central Pennsylvania and a subsidiary of PPL Corporation, announced that residential and small-business customers will now have an option to purchase renewable energy in 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks at a cost of 2.5¢/kWh above the standard electric rate, or $2.50 per block. The utility is offering the PPL Electric Utilities Green Power Option, in partnership with Community Energy Inc., a wind energy developer and marketer located in Radnor, Penn. The program is sourced from wind and small hydropower projects.
