APX Inc., an infrastructure provider for environmental and energy markets, announced the launch of the North American Renewables Registry, a web-based platform to create, track, manage, and retire renewable energy certificates (RECs) across North America. The platform is designed for REC suppliers, buyers, and investors in both voluntary and compliance renewable energy markets. The platform also enables state governments to manage RECs established under renewable portfolio standards. The Registry serves facilities and regions, such as the Southeast, that are not already served by existing REC market systems, such as NEPOOL-GIS, PJM-GATS, Texas RECs, M-RETS, and WREGIS.
