New Smyrna Beach Adds PV System

June 2002 - The Florida Solar Energy Center reports that the City of New Smyrna Beach will dedicate a new 4.8-kW photovoltaic (PV) system at the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Golf Facility on July 11. Under the city's SunSmart program, the project output will be available for purchase by residential and commercial customers in blocks of 10 kWh, 25 kWh, and 50 kWh for an additional monthly payment of $2, $5 and $10, respectively, which is equivalent to an electricity price premium of 20¢/kWh. Participating customers will also receive citywide recognition for their support of the program.
