Constellation NewEnergy Inc. announced it has been awarded an electricity and renewable energy supply contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) that will supply more than 150 federal agency and institutional customers in Washington, D.C. Under a two year contract, Constellation NewEnergy will supply 1.8 million MWh of electricity and more than 90,000 MWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs) annually. The supply will meet the GSA requirement that 5 percent of their total demand be supplied from renewable energy or a REC equivalent. The building sites include the U.S. Capitol, Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Institution, FBI, and the Federal Reserve.
