Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA) announced that its wind and landfill gas-generated renewable energy certificate (REC) product, WVPA Wind and Landfill Gas RECs, has been certified by Green-e Energy. WVPA, a provider of wholesale electricity to 28 distribution cooperatives located in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio, has offered RECs to its customers since 2004. In 2009, renewable energy sources are expected to supply 4.3 percent of WVPA’s annual power generation.
