NPPD Exploring Green Tags Product

January 2003 - According to a January 11 article in the Omaha World-Herald, the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is considering the development of a wind farm ranging in size from 5 to 50 megawatts (MW). As part of the project decision, NPPD is exploring the market for "green tags" or renewable energy certificates that it would offer for sale to other utilities. Currently, NPPD operates 2 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 1.5 MW located near Springview, Nebraska.
