Santa Clara Univ. Expands RE Purchase

Santa Clara University has expanded its annual green power purchase commitment from 8 million kWh to about 11.3 million kWh. The purchase was made through Santa Clara Green Power, the green pricing program of the city’s municipal utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP), which is marketed in partnership with 3Degrees. The utility offers renewable energy certificates (RECs) sourced from newly constructed wind projects located within the western U.S. The expanded purchase makes the University a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership’s Green Power Leadership Club.
