The Pepsi Center, Colorado's largest indoor sports and entertainment venue, announced that it will purchase renewable energy for all of the electricity used at the site. Under an agreement with Sterling Planet, the facility owners will purchase 11 million kWh of Green-e certified renewable energy certificates (RECs). The arena, which is home to the NBA Denver Nuggets and the NHL Colorado Avalanche, hosts more than 200 sporting events and concerts a year and is the site of the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
