Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD), which supplies water to more than 1.7 million people in north central Texas, announced that it is purchasing green power for a portion of its electricity needs. Under an agreement with Strategic Energy, the Fort Worth-based water agency is purchasing 11.7 million kWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match a portion of its electricity needs over the next three years.
