The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officially launched its green pricing program on May 13. Dubbed "Green Power for a Green L.A.," the program allows customers the option to receive 100% renewable energy at an additional cost of only $3.00 per month for the average residential customer. The utility will supply 20% of the power from new renewable sources.
A novel twist to the program is that participating customers will be given free energy efficiency products and services to help reduce their bills and offset the increased cost of the green power.
