Origins Makes Wind Energy Purchase

August 2007 - Origins, a brand committed to promoting beauty and wellness through natural products, announced a new agreement with Community Energy, Inc. (CEI) to purchase wind energy equal to 100% of the energy used by its U.S. standalone retail stores, manufacturers of Origins products in company-owned facilities, and third parties manufacturing its organic range of products. Under the agreement, CEI will provide 7.2 million kWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs) sourced from wind energy projects in New York state and nationwide. Origins plans to post information about the wind energy purchase on their corporate Web site, as well as inform employees and consumers directly about how they too can make a difference by switching to wind power.
