The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership released an updated list of the nation's Top 25 green power purchasers. The new list ranks two of Pepsi's three independent bottlers — The Pepsi Bottling Group and PepsiAmericas — at the fourth and 13th positions, respectively, following on the heels of the nation's single largest annual green power purchase announced by PepsiCo in April. The total aggregate purchase of the three independent bottlers is nearly 629 million kWh per year.
Several companies also increased their annual purchases, including Kohl's Department Stores, now ranked eighth on the list with more than 200 million kWh of annual purchases, and Mohawk Fine Papers, which appears on the Top 25 list for the first time.
