South Dakota Universities to Purchase Wind Energy

South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota will each purchase enough in-state wind energy to be "100% green" above their standard allocation of power from the Western Area Power Administration. The wind energy will be supplied by Heartland Consumers Power District from the 51-MW Wessington Springs Wind Project that will be operational in late 2008 or early 2009.
