Hartford Goes 20% Green

The City of Hartford (Conn.) announced that it will offset 20% of its municipal power needs with renewable energy certificates (RECs) purchased from Community Energy, Inc. and Constellation NewEnergy. With the purchase, which totals 8.6 million kWh, Hartford becomes the latest Connecticut city to join the 20% by 2010 Clean Energy Campaign organized by SmartPower.
