Connecticut College announced that it has expanded its green power purchases to meet 100% of its annual electricity needs. This year, under an agreement with 3 Phases Energy (now serviced by 3Degrees), the college is purchasing 15 million kWh of Green-e certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) derived from wind energy facilities. The college has been steadily increasing its green power purchases since 2002, when green power met 17% of annual electricity needs.
