The Port of Houston Authority has entered into a three-year agreement with Direct Energy for retail electric service that includes 5% wind energy, totaling about 6.5 million kWh. The port is the first announced commercial renewable energy customer for Direct Energy, which has signed long-term agreements to purchase power from three west Texas wind farms: Buffalo Gap, Buffalo Gap 2 and the Sand Bluff Wind Farm.
