Performance Bicycle Buys Green Power

September 2006 - Performance Bicycle has become the first U.S. sports retailer to use renewable energy for its entire operations. Through an agreement with Boulder, Colorado-based Renewable Choice Energy, the company will purchase about 5.1 million kWh of renewable energy credits (RECs) annually to meet 100% of the electricity use of its stores, corporate headquarters, distribution centers and call center. In addition, Performance Bicycle is offering free gift cards to customers who choose wind power for their homes.
