The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership announced that the University of Utah has entered its list of Top 10 College and University green power purchasers. Under a contract with Sterling Planet, the university purchases 25 million kWh of renewable energy certificates from wind projects located in the Mountain West. The purchase is equivalent to 10% of the university's total electricity use.
