Air Force Maintains Top Spot on EPA List

April 2006 - The U.S. Air Force retained its place at the top of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) list of the "Top 25" national purchasers in the Green Power Partnership. The Air Force purchases more than one billion kWh of renewable energy annually.

Two new Partners made the list: IBM Corporation (No. 10) and Northwestern University (tie for No. 22). Other significant movement within the list includes Johnson & Johnson claiming the No. 3 spot and the University of Pennsylvania climbing to No. 8 from its previous position, tied for No. 20. Combined, the Top 25 purchases amount to 3.6 billion kWh of green power annually or approximately 73% of green power purchases made by all Partners.
