The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), along with other state agencies and leaders, announced the statewide availability of the CleanPower Choice program. The program allows electricity users to support the development of renewable energy sources located in New Jersey and the mid-Atlantic region by purchasing green power from one of four marketers: Community Energy, Green Mountain Energy, Jersey-Atlantic Wind, and Sterling Planet.
Participating electricity customers will continue to be served and billed by their local electric company, and the renewable energy purchase will appear as a separate line item on the bill. The program began October 1 in the PSE&G and JCP&L service territories and has now expanded to Atlantic City Electric and Orange & Rockland Utilities.
