Northwest Programs Continue to Grow

August 2005 - The number of utility customers purchasing green power in the Northwest increased by 40% from 2003 to 2004, according to a new report released by the Renewable Northwest Project (RNP). Entitled "Powerful Choices V," the report summarizes information on 36 utility green power programs that allow customers to voluntarily support renewable energy. According to RNP, customers purchased more than 550 million kWh of green power in 2004, or enough to support nearly one quarter of all the wind power produced in the Northwest.
