Community Energy, Inc. and the New Jersey Audubon Society announced that they have reached an agreement that will allow Community Energy to move ahead with development of a 7.5-MW wind farm near Atlantic City that will serve its green power customers in New Jersey and surrounding areas. Under the agreement, the organizations will conduct a detailed study using new radar technology to better predict how the wind turbine towers may affect bird migration. The agreement settles an appeal filed by the Audubon Society regarding issuance of a Coastal Area Facility Review Act permit for the facility, which would be the first wind generation project to be built in the state.
