June 2003 - PPL Corporation announced that it has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Community Energy, Inc. (CEI) to purchase the output of the 20-MW Bear Creek Wind Power Project, which is under development in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area in Northeast Pennsylvania. The project is expected to be on-line by the end of 2003. CEI will market the project output in the form of wind energy certificates to customers in the mid-Atlantic region.
