Austin Energy Green RFP

Austin Energy, the City of Austin's municipally owned electric utility, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the purchase of up to 100 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. The utility is soliciting bids from renewable energy providers for both a fixed amount of renewable energy annually and a variable amount based on customer demand for the utility's green pricing program. The green pricing portion of the RFP solicits a detailed marketing plan for promoting renewable energy in the Austin area. The RFP defines renewables to include power generated from solar, wind, hydro or landfill methane gas recovery. Proposals are due on February 24, 1999.
