1&1 Internet, Inc.


December 2009 - 1&1 Internet, Inc., a Web hosting company, announced that it has purchased enough renewable energy for 100% of its electricity use in its Lenexa, Kansas Data Center for the second year in a row. Under the agreement with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, the company has purchased 17.5 million kWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs). 1&1 Internet, Inc. has also joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership, a group of organizations that have made voluntary commitments to purchase electricity from renewable sources.
