August 2006 - Pepco Energy Services announced that Lerner Enterprises and The Tower Companies have committed to purchase 100% wind energy for both the Washington Square office building in Washington, D.C., and their joint headquarters building in Bethesda, Maryland. Under the terms of the 48-month contract, Pepco Energy Services will provide more than 64 million kWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs) supplied by Sterling Planet from wind projects nationwide.
