December 2000 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) issued a grant to the Michigan Independent Power Producers Association (MIPPA) to create a Green Power Cooperative to increase the availability and accessibility of green power in the state. Among its activities, the cooperative plans to aggregate green power customers, certify green power suppliers, create access to capital for green power generators, provide training for green power marketers, and establish an informational web site.
